"The love of music brought us together". We had met twice at two different events before we realized we wanted to see each other again at yet another venue, and spend more time together. Our friend Dan was the first to introduce us at an event he would photograph. This particular event was on Dan's birthday, at the venue Corey worked at. Melissa thought it would be fun to take the camera for the night so Dan could have a good time. He did not want to worry about Melissa or his camera so.... "Meet Captain". A few seasons later there was a show in a small Boston club that we both felt the absolute need to be at for some reason, beside our love for Dubfx. Paige and Sarah are to thanks for re-introducing us again at this event. It was this event that would spark a friendship that would last forever.
Every year on the weekend of Melissa and her son's Zachs birthday, they would all dress as characters and go to the King Richard's Faire. Last year Corey had the ring in his pocket the whole day, planning on proposing. As the day went on he realized Melissa may have had a few too many of the signature mead with the honey cinnamon rim, and figured it should probably wait. Melissa had no idea. Monday came and it was Melissa's birthday. Corey took her to one of her favorite places, Salem, on a beautiful day for a shopping, lunch and oysters. Walking all around town in and out of shops and sites, exploring the "Friendship" and the walk to the light house. The sun was so bright the ocean looked like sparkles glistening off the sail boats in the distance. It was so peaceful, no one else in sight and calm, Corey got down on one knee and asked Melissa to marry him.
