It all started at Prom Night 2007. The two most popular kids in High School. Melissa was in theater. Justin in the orchestra. Love at first sight? Not quite. Justin got sick and threw up on Melissa. They didn’t talk for two years after that. The best place to start a relationship? A cool AEPi frat party, of course. After a year of friendship, in 2010 Melissa and Justin began dating. Mizzou football games, Disney movies, and Mets/Cardinals rivalries – they were perfect for each other. Nothing could tear them apart. Except Justin moving to New York.

A Life Apart

5 years went by and eventually all communication between the two died. Their college love was nothing more than a nice memory. But what they didn’t know was both just wanted one thing – each other. Thinking the other was happy – neither reached out. They were both the one that got away… Until 2018 when Melissa took the chance and messaged Justin. Their first contact in years. The rest was history. Two weeks later Justin boarded a flight to St. Louis. Months after that, Melissa sold her house and car, quit her job, and moved to Brooklyn. It was always meant to be.

The Engagement

When Melissa was 19, she told her best friends she wanted Justin to propose to her in Central Park. 10 years later, that’s exactly what happened. Memorial Day Weekend 2019. He got down on one knee on the Gapstow Bridge. He proposed with a Ring Pop. Just like Melissa envisioned…
