We had a few classes together in high school and some mutual friends, but up until our junior year of high school we did not really interact with each other. Ironically, our first significant interaction was at Detroit Metro Airport. We were both flying to Atlanta in December, me for a soccer tournament, Josh for a swim meet. After landing in Atlanta, the tram through the airport was full leaving us all to walk to baggage claim, where we spent lots of time talking. The fall of our senior year we had multiple classes together and sat at the same lunch table. We became closer friends during this time, which lead to a date to see the new movie Les Miserables (I claimed it wasn't a date, but it most definitely was a date). A mixup of the movie time lead us to Steak 'n Shake where we shared laughs and cheap food. Eventually, we saw the movie, and the rest is history.
Josh proposed on June 20th, 2019 at Clear Lake, MI in front of all our friends and parents. There was a lot of planning put into the proposal, even some deceiving to throw me off track, but I had absolutely no idea and was completely surprised when he got down on one knee. I of course said yes, and the rest of the weekend we spent celebrating with friends & family. It was a fun & unforgettable weekend. We feel so blessed by all the support we have received throughout our engagement and we cannot wait to become husband and wife. We are so excited to celebrate our marriage with our beloved family and friends on August 15th, 2020!
