What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Feel free to wear suits, ties, short dresses, long dresses and jumpsuits! Ceremony will be at a Catholic Church - please dress accordingly. Reception location has cobblestone paths and a gravel parking lot. No event will be held on grass. Please choose footwear based on your own comfort.

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

There will be a shuttle to take guests to and from the room block hotel (Hyatt at the Convention Center). Shuttle will take guests to the church 10 minutes away, and back to the hotel for the gap between the ceremony and reception. Shuttle will take guests to the reception and back. Please note the reception is 40 minutes from the room block hotel. We have designed the day so you do not need to rent a car if you do not want to. However, if you prefer to have more freedom than the above schedule, or if your accommodations do not work with our route feel free to rent a car. But please note that the ceremony location has residential street parking only. If you choose to drive you may need to park far away from the church and walk.

Should I utilize Portland's public transit?

Answer

The Max trains in Portland are very convenient for getting to and from the airport to the room block hotel. Please note that people who are homeless do often ride the train, and it may be a higher volume than you are used to in your town. There is security on the train sporadically. I utilize public transport in Portland frequently, and have not had issues. Please utilize this service based on your own comfort.
