Sam and Melissa met on an online dating site called Bumble! Much to Sam's disappointment, Melissa did not have her distance set far enough to see that he had liked her until she changed that one day! Once they matched, it was over, they were hooked; Melissa found her kind, caring man who would gladly hold her hand in church and handle her emotional rollercoaster and Sam found his kind, smart and spunky woman who would play videogames and loudly yell/cheer for him at basketball! Our engagement story is one that most find hilarious and sweet, so here it is! We began dating on January 14th, 2024 after being on 1 date the day prior (we love a man who knows what he wants and speaks up on it). Then, unknown to Melissa, Sam asked her father to make sure it was okay that he proposed; not that anyone is surprised (Mike has been very vocal about how much he likes Sam)but Mike was excited to say yes! So, after 9 months of dating, on September 7th, 2024, Sam took Melissa fishing (which she loves) and pretended to catch something! All Melissa saw was a box in a plastic bag, so naturally, she thought it was drugs or a body part! Melissa then focused on her own pole (not wanting to have police show up with no fish to show off. kidding!) and Sam had to ask Melissa to look at him and he was on 1 knee! PS I(Melissa) did not cry! I almost did but I held it in and I think that was mainly shock!
