About three years ago, a single mom met a single dad, and our lives were never the same. We bonded over the love we have for our kids, and found in each other the support, friendship and love we had both been looking for.
One of our favorite things to do, is take our kids on family trips. In July of 2023 we decided to take Cora and Lily to Ventura, California, where Rial grew up. We had a blast exploring the beach, visiting some of his favorite spots and, of course, eating lots of ice cream. One night after dinner, Rial suggested we head down to the beach to get some pictures of the girls. So off we went, wandering the beach for a spot, once we found one, we started taking pictures of the girls right away. We can only hold their attention for so long. Rial’s next suggestion was to have the girls try to take pictures of us. Once the girls were in position, we posed for them, and then Rial dropped down to one knee. In all honesty, I don’t really know what he said, the tears were flowing, I was definitely surprised. Once Rial and I emerged from our proposal bubble, the girls showed us the pictures they took. And guess what!!!! None of us. Lily took some wonderful action shots of a lifeguard truck driving by, and Cora opened maps and was dropping pins all over “pwanet earf.” Not the pictures we expected, but so perfectly them. We then enjoyed a few minutes on the beach together before we all walked home for the day.
