Nicholas and Melissa's journey began in the summer of 2020, when they first connected on Instagram during the COVID lockdown. Although the two shared several mutual friends, they had not communicated until one day, while browsing Instagram, Melissa came across one of Nick’s posts which featured a bottle of Guyana’s El Dorado 21 Rum. Curious, Melissa sent Nick a message, and to her delight, Nick replied almost immediately. From that moment forward, their conversations flowed effortlessly and what started as a simple exchange blossomed into the beginning of the most important chapter of their lives. Demonstrating the unexpected power of a simple social media connection, Melissa and Nick arranged to meet for the first time amidst Tropical Storm Isaias. Despite the brewing storm, the two were very determined to meet. Their first date took place at Pier 115 in Edgewater, NJ—a waterfront venue, chosen by Melissa, despite the bad weather. With Nick's great looks, charm, and sense of humor, Melissa felt instant butterflies and knew he was the one. These past four years have been nothing short of amazing for the both of them. Through shared passions and embracing their true selves, their bond has deepened, making them a very strong couple. Over this time, Nick and Melissa have traveled across the country, explored several tropical islands, cruised around the Caribbean, visited numerous wineries, and attended countless sporting events (including both Knicks and Yankees playoff games). Each day has been filled with happiness, joy, love and adventure. On December 30, 2024, Nick returned to Pier 115 where it all began. In a heartfelt gesture, he proposed at the very same spot where they first met with the restaurant beautifully decorated with candles and roses, overlooking the NYC skyline. Nicholas and Melissa’s story is a beautiful testament to unwavering faith, perfect timing and showing how two paths can align at just the right moment to create something truly extraordinary. As they prepare to embark on this new chapter together, they are filled with excitement and look forward to having everyone join them on this incredible journey.
