Melissa and Mike’s story began in May 2016 in the city of brotherly love. Their first interaction was on Tinder where Mike boasted, "I'm 6'1”, one of those abnormally tall Asians." Mike is in fact 5'11”, something he still denies today. They nourished their budding relationship through their passion of gastronomy, seeking out the most delicious foods and strongest drinks Philly had to offer. It didn’t matter if they were having a cold brew at Krupa’s (their favorite neighborhood bar), sharing a plate of cheesesteak spring rolls, or indulging at one of the finest restaurants in the city, Melissa and Mike love being with each other. Along with food, the two share a passion for exploring. Melissa and Mike’s travels have led them wandering through wise red woods of Muir Forest, kayaking down the treacherous rapids of the Colorado river, serpentining on mountain bikes through the cliffs of Canyon Lands, and soaking up the rays on the beaches of San Diego. Through the amazing adventures, Melissa and Mike’s love deepened and became unwavering. In March 2020, Melissa and Mike packed their bags and set sail to the foreign lands of Morocco. At the foothills of the Rif Mountain range lies the city of Chefchaouen, known as “The Blue Pearl”. Mike knew of no other place more perfect to declare his love for Melissa and ask her to marry him. The two were wandering through the narrow streets and came across the courtyard of a local man. Mike confidently kneeled down, presented a Blue Sapphire ring and… you know what comes next. That evening, the two of them hiked to a Spanish Mosque nestled in the Rif Mountains overlooking the city. As Melissa and Mike enjoyed watching the last rays of sun peaking over the mountains and kissing the blue roofs, a group of local musicians began serenading them with acoustic guitars singing in their native tongue ‘Elias’ by Dispatch. What a day! Next chapter in our Book of Life: having all of you with us as we say, “I do”!
