We met in August 2010 at San José State University, where we were both enrolled in an honors MIS class. By chance, we were assigned to the same group for a yearlong project—and that’s where it all began. Over the years, our journey wasn’t exactly straightforward. We spent seven years growing together, apart, and finding our way back to each other more than once. But in August 2020—ten years after we first met—we reconnected in a way that felt different. This time, it was forever. Not long after, our story grew even more meaningful. We welcomed our beautiful daughter Misa in June 2021, and our family expanded again with the arrival of Marissa in November 2024. They are truly the heart of our world. On May 21, 2025, Mark proposed to Melissa at home—simple, intimate, and perfect for us. It was a moment that reflected everything our relationship has been: real, enduring, and full of love.
