We met on a dating app in the spring of 2020 and our first "date" was actually virtual, over Zoom! The next thing we knew almost 2 hours went by talking and we decided that a proper date in person was next. Karl crafted the best first date for a simplistic gal - enjoying tacos & wine in the bed of his pick up truck, plus a walk around the lake. Let's just say Melissa was hooked from there on. The conversation and walk around the lake turned into more adventures, tennis matches, game nights, holidays together, and then meeting each other's families. In fact, Karl is the only man Melissa has brought home to meet her family - talk about the right catch!

Karl proposed to Melissa in November of 2022, just after Thanksgiving in her hometown. He even had her whole family in on it and no one spilled the beans or let on any sign. Well, Melissa almost found out herself a couple times in the weeks leading up to the proposal! She'll assure you though that it was a complete surprise to her and it was incredibly special to have her whole family there to celebrate with after. 3+ years worth of memories later and we've vacationed in Utah, planted numerous vegetable gardens, rested and relaxed at our family cabins up north, celebrated friend and family weddings, and so much more. We can’t wait for this exciting new chapter to begin!
