They say the best relationships are built from a friendship. During a time when a friend was what we both wanted, we happened upon each other and said why not. If you ask Justin, he may tell you that I played hard to get. If you ask me, I will say that it doesn’t matter what he says lol, the truth is, neither one of us expected or knew our friendship would turn in to what it is today. Our friendship was generated off wholesome conversation and blossomed into an undying love that both of us can truly say we had never experienced. We knew where we came from, what we didn’t want and what we did want. Then we put ourselves out there and took a leap of faith. He gave me a chance, I gave him a chance and blessed we both are. Our relationship has traveled the span of time, consisting of emails, text messages, cards, letters, and phone calls to various date nights, double dates, family dates, vacations, etc. People may ask why we waited so long, but my response will be, we didn’t wait. I married my best friend a long time ago deep in my heart when only him and I were present. Day one we told each other our children will always come first. So above anything our children have been the most important thing at the forefront of our thoughts and devotion. Ensuring they adjusted and were onboard with our decisions mattered much more than any public ceremony. To have Avori tell me from day one she started planning our wedding. For Zoey to gladly accept my proposal for Jr. bridesmaid, to have Makayla tell me we need to just hurry up and get married. For Danielle to tell me she now has four sisters. That is why now it is time. When you marry a person, you marry their family. In my heart, I’ve been married to Justin for many years, yet now we choose to symbolize it in a ceremony with a reception and to share it with our family and friends.
