In true modern fashion, we met on a dating app—definitely not the story either of our parents imagined telling their friends! But hey, times change, and sometimes the untraditional leads to the most incredible love stories. Julio was the one to send the first message, and Melissa couldn’t help but be drawn to his kind words and thoughtful conversation. He was sweet, smart, and so genuine—Melissa decided to take a chance on him. A few days later, they had their first date. Now, this wasn’t your typical dinner-and-a-movie kind of date. Nope, they went bowling. For about… 30 minutes. Why so short, you ask? Well, they were so busy talking and laughing that neither of them could focus on the game. In fact, Julio managed to accidentally block the neighboring lanes a few times, much to the annoyance of other bowlers. Eventually, they gave up on bowling altogether and spent the next three hours sitting and chatting like they’d known each other forever. But all good things have to come to an end—or at least a pause. Melissa had a curfew, and as Julio walked her to her car, she couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed that he hadn’t asked her out for a second date. She drove away thinking, Oh well, maybe it wasn’t meant to be. That’s when she saw him. Out of nowhere, Julio came sprinting across the parking lot, waving his arms and looking a little out of breath. Nervous but determined, he stopped her car and finally asked, “Can I have your number? I’d really love to see you again.” And from that moment on, they were inseparable. What started with a non-traditional app and a hilariously short bowling game has turned into a lifetime of love, laughter, and amazing memories.
