Melissa and I first met at Big O Tires in Savage, where she was the assistant manager and I worked as a tire tech. At first, we were just coworkers, exchanging quick hellos and the occasional work joke. She had her own life going on, but something about the way she carried herself always caught my attention. Melissa was the one who made the first move — she started to pursue me, even though I was pretty stubborn and hesitant to let someone in. Then, everything shifted when I got sick with COVID. During that time, we started talking more, opening up about our lives, our dreams, and all the little things that matter. We grew closer every day, and before I knew it, she had become the person I looked forward to talking to most. From that point on, we never stopped. We built a connection that turned into a deep, unbreakable bond. To this day, she’s not only my partner but also my best friend, and we’ve been by each other’s side ever since.
