You can check out Red Rocks in the morning before they close for a show for free! There is Yoga on The Rocks on Saturdays.
Check out the OG Colorado brewery!
A short drive from Golden where you can overlook the whole town and see all the way to Denver
Check out the All Trails app for hikes around Golden. "Peaks to Plains Trail East" (located near The Eddy) is an easy 2.3 mile hike that is on a paved path along the river. Remember that you are at a much higher elevation here, so bring plenty of water and sunscreen and take your time!
Along Washington Ave, there are coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shopping available! Be sure to stray a bit off the main street to visit The Golden Mill, one of our favorites.
Denver is a close drive from Golden! There are so many restaurants and places around to explore. The Highlands (LoHi), Downtown (LoDo) and River North (RiNo) are all great areas. Reach out to us if you want some of our personal recommendations.
If you're renting a car you can take a trip West along highway I-70 into the Rocky Mountains. About 1.5 hours from Denver is a picturesque town called Breckenridge with many restaurants, bars and historical buildings from the Gold Rush period. On your way to/from Breckenridge you can stop for some great views at the Continental Divide along Highway 6 - just keep in mind that it's a winding mountain pass on high roads. If you're trying to recreate the Gold Rush for yourself you can also stop in at Black Hawk, Colorado's own "mini-Vegas" with 10+ casinos in the canyon!
