The year was 2011, the town was Pullman and the Busch Light was flowing. Melissa and Jordin met through mutual friends while attending Washington State University (go cougs), but it was not love at first sight. The true spark came a little over a decade later when Melissa liked a story featuring the one and only Marcie on Jordin's Instagram. Those who know Melissa understand that liking videos of dogs on social media is a nightly routine, but this time it meant something more. Weeks later, Melissa and Jordin matched on the dating app Bumble. After a few messages back and forth, the chat ran dry...and that could've been the end of things. Jordin wasn't willing to miss out on this opportunity, however. He mustered up all of his charisma and writing background, and after hours of rewrites - he slid into Melissa's Instagram DM's with the tactful approach line "Let's grab drinks." Melissa responded with a heartfelt "Ok, why not" and the storybook beginning was written. Tacos and margaritas in South Lake Union was the first date, followed by a “do you want to meet my dog?” and that was all she wrote folks. The two then proceeded to spend the next 40+ consecutive days together attending Mariner games, playing cards until hours far beyond bedtime, and falling more in love with each episode of Friends. A trip to the East Coast in the fall of 2022 led them to Melissa's childhood home in Connecticut. Melissa believed it to be a minor detour on their way to visit her family, but it ended up being the destination where they agreed to spend their lives together, after Jordin convinced her to get out of the damn car. Jordin & Melissa excitedly await April 1st, 2023, when they can officially commit their love for each other in the presence of their friends and family - no fooling here. They cannot wait to celebrate with those they love most.
