Melissa Smith
Bride
Melissa is a follower of the Lord. She is a member of Sojourn Montrose and volunteers there by running the slides. Melissa works as a massage therapist for Green Chiropractic and spends her workdays working with clients to progress them to a healthier lifestyle (one with fewer aches and pains!) as well as helping with scheduling and phones when needed. Melissa is a 4th Degree Black Belt and uses the techniques she's learned to teach others at Ed Saenz School of Martial Arts. In Melissa's free time, she loves to read a good book, put together puzzles, walk through nature, and spend time with her Texas family. And she is always working on adding to her costuming skills and costume wardrobe!
Jacob McCauley
Groom
Jacob is a follower of the Lord. He currently volunteers as a Sound Board operator at his current church of Oak Ridge Baptist Church (ORBC), but plans to transition from ORBC to Sojourn Montrose with Melissa once married and apply his talents there. Jacob works for RNWBL which is a rather new company that supports wind and solar techs. He is a Tech and Product Analyst and spends most of his work days solving various IT issues, creating procedural documentation, and working on other projects that his bosses put in front of him. Jacob likes to spend some of his free time training for triathlons (having already completed 2 Ironmans and planning for a 3rd next year), tinkering on vehicles, or lately putting together a unique Star Wars costume.
Kathryn Campbell
Matron of Honor
Katie is Melissa's older sister. Arguably, Melissa followed her to Texas (after waiting an appropriate period of ten years) as Katie and her family are some of the main reasons why Melissa decided to live here. They're clearly related as they share interests in crafting, baking, nerdom, and both have curly hair!
Jarod McCauley
Best Man
Jarod is Jacob's only sibling. Jarod and Jacob share a love for Star Wars and Cars. Over the years they have become the best of friends. Often asking each other for advice in one another's different areas of expertise and sharing future goals and projects the two of them would like to work on together.
Nicole Ratliff
Bridesmaid
Nicole is one of Melissa's closest friends, and one of her first close friends from church. Equally introverted, nerdy, and followers of Christ, they have no issue striking up conversations. Even though they are separated by a few states they have managed to stay in touch and stay close friends.
Darren DeSimone
Groomsman
Darren is Jacob's small group leader at ORBC and has become a close friend of Jacob. Darren is someone Jacob can rely on to pray for him through his struggles, give spiritual advice when Jacob feels stuck, but also someone that is truly an incredible friend.
