To reach the islands, you’ll need to first fly into mainland Ecuador, either: Quito (Mariscal Sucre International Airport) – airport code UIO Guayaquil (José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport) – airport code GYE From there, you’ll take a separate domestic flight to the Galápagos Islands, arriving at Baltra Airport (GPS). There are direct and one-stop flights available.

• At the airport, before checking in with your airline, head to the Governing Council counter to pay for your Transit Control Card. This costs $20 for both Ecuadorian and international tourists. Keep this card with you, as you’ll need to present it when you leave the islands. • Upon arrival in the Galápagos, you’ll be asked to pay the Galápagos National Park entrance fee: ○ $30 for Ecuadorian tourists ○ $100 for tourists from CAN or Mercosur countries (such as Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay) ○ $200 for Other International tourists These fees are cash only—credit/debit cards and transfers are not accepted. • After exiting the airport, buy your LOBITO ticket ($5 cash per person) for transport to the dock, where a small ferry will take you across Canal de Itabaca ($1 per person). Try to bring small bills to avoid any delays. • To reach Puerto Ayora, you can take: A bus for $5 per person or a shared taxi for $25 total (fits up to 4 passengers).
