We're getting married!

We met during an interview for Aon's leadership program in Orlando during the spring of 2016. I was part of the panel helping interview the new candidates and Gio was interviewing to join the upcoming class. There was a moment when our eyes locked from across the table and we both couldn't help but smile. Once the interview was over we shook hands and went our separate ways. Months pass and I find out Gio accepted the job. We were asked to pick who would sit next to us in our cubicles by choosing a name out of a hat. To my surprise, I picked Gio's name and actually thought about asking to draw again because my cube was the gossip cube - so in true fashion my friend Alli and I were banking on another girl. Something led Gio to choose that job in Orlando and something led me to draw his name out of the hat that day. We are both big believers that everything happens for a reason - so call it whatever you want but life had something much bigger in store for us. From sharing cubicles to becoming best friends, and falling in love...the rest is history!

I spent weeks and countless sleepless nights looking for the right diamond ring. After many hard decisions, I found the perfect ring on January 18, 2020. I later realized the much harder part was finding the perfect place and time to get down on one knee. With every day that passed, I grew more impatient and scared she'd find the ring hidden in our apartment. I was bottled up with joy, love, happiness, and I wanted to share the same feelings with the woman I'd be spending the rest of my life with. A week later, our friends invited us to Duck Key, FL for the weekend (they were in on it) but Melissa knew something was off. The whole night she kept asking why I was acting strange. Maybe it was nerves or excitement but I brushed them off. The next morning we all walked to the oceanfront where Melissa did not expect what came next - "will you marry me". Twenty seconds, which felt like 10 minutes, went by with nothing but shock written on her face. Once it all set in, tears followed with a "yes"! We could not be more excited to share this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Palm Beach!
