Our Story
September 2018
College Days! We met in college and spent three years in the same group of friends. Through that time, we built a strong friendship that felt effortless from the start.
March 2020
After years of friendship (and a few not-so-subtle hints), we finally admitted that we were more than just friends. We started dating in March 2020, just as the world was shutting down. Quarantine gave us a crash course in quality time, and it turns out, we really liked it.
October 2020
Not long into our relationship, Delane was deployed to Qatar while Melissa was student teaching in Salt Lake City. It wasn’t easy, but through calls, letters, and a lot of trust, we grew even closer. The distance reminded us how lucky we were to have found something so worth holding onto.
2020-2023
After reuniting, we spent a few months in Minneapolis before settling into our cozy apartment in Ames, Iowa, where we first began. Ames became our first real home together, a place where we built routines, shared countless memories, and truly grew as a couple.
2023
In August 2023, we took the next big step and moved to Colorado, where we bought our first home. This new chapter has brought fresh opportunities, career growth, and a deepened sense of home together.

In March, Delane popped the question during an unforgettable trip to Tokyo, making everything officially official. We’re beyond excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you, the people who’ve been part of our journey from the very start.
