David and Melissa met on vacation in Cancun in 2015 at a nightclub called Mandala. Melissa gave David her ex boyfriend´s phone number by mistake (after having some drinks). He was very surprised when David called the next day to pick Meli up for dinner plans. Luckily he sent David´s info to Meli out of rage. They ended up meeting for dinner the next night. The rest is history

David tricked Meli and told her he was flying to Vancouver for business meetings, but he was actually going to pick up the ring. He arrived in Guatemala a few days early and arranged for Meli´s friend´s to take her out for drinks at a nice hotel with a view of the volcanos and sunset. A mariachi band, champagne and a lot of flowers surprised Meli as David walked around the corner and got down on one knee. While shocked and filled with tears of joy, she said yes.
