The hotel l is located in an area of Chesapeake, VA called "Greenbrier" - its near a several shopping centers and restaurants. The closest highway is 64.
Target, Harris Teeter (grocery store), a mall & shopping centers, a movie theater, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, fast food & sit down restaurants,
The area is made up of several cities and we usually call it “Hampton Roads.” Our hotel is about a 30 minute drive to the ceremony venue and is very suburban. Other possible areas you can look at would be: Norfolk: Norfolk/Downtown area: closest to wedding venue/nightlife/restaurant variety. Expect to pay toll by EZ pass or by mail. Portsmouth: closest to venue and no toll but we would only recommend one hotel: Marriott Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterside. It is on the expensive side. Chesapeake/Greenbrier area: bride & groom & family available, lots of familiar stores/restaurants Virginia Beach: more touristy but in March, it might not be crazy yet. If looking to be close to the ocean, it will be about a 45 min drive to the venue. Expect to pay toll by EZ pass or by mail.
Flying in: Norfolk International Airport Getting around for the weekend: Rental car or Uber Saturday night: Wedding planner suggests no taxi or Uber for the end of the evening. If you are going to have difficulty with transportation to and from the wedding from the Hyatt Hotel-please let the bride & groom when RSVPing.
