Wedding Party

Meet our friends who will be walking down the aisle with us. Enjoy a little story about how each person knows the bride and groom.

Nicole Vetti

Maid of Honor

College friend- Mel and I met my freshman year of college. I joined a sorority looking to make friends and realized she help the position I was looking to apply for the following year. So I started following her around getting to know the position—in doing so, I got to know her pretty well too. She’s definitely my greatest blessing I got out of joining that sorority! It’s so hard to narrow down to a favorite memory since I will cherish the times we spent attempting to survive college—as well as those we’ve made post-graduation even states apart.

Julia Hinds

Bridesmaid

College Roommate- We (initially) met on facebook, but also were suuuper bougie and met in-person in Paris. She was my No.1 roommate from day 1 and I'm sure we both have wayyyy too many incriminating stories! One of my favorite memories is when we were in undergrad in November freshman year, I had a half marathon to run in Wilmington - so she was going to make the drive with me for the weekend. We were both super tired, leaving at the crack of dawn, and my heat in my car stopped working - so we had to make the ENTIRE drive in snuggies because it was so cold!

Natalie Hudson

Bridesmaid

Optometry School friend- Melissa and I met being roommates in optometry school. Our friendship was totally solidified forever after one beach trip in August with our amazing (soon to be) husbands. Our friendship only deepened after of years of living together, sharing both our professional and personal lives with each other. I couldn’t have become the person I am without knowing Melissa. I’m so excited to be a part of celebrating the their wedding!

Parker Sherman

Bridesmaid

Childhood friend- Melissa has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, she felt like the older sister I never had. Some of my favorite memories are our post-Thanksgiving Black Friday shopping trips, running off to the mall together and laughing our way through the chaos.

Meghan Mills

Bridesmaid

College friend - We know each other from freshman year at App State. She lived two doors down from me and was friends (at the time) with my freshman roommate. We have had plenty of good memories from when we were at school together to once we both moved to different states. Will never forget those nights in the dorms we would make steak quesadillas for dinner instead of going to the dining hall.

Alex Wahinya

Best Man

Alex & I go back more than 20 years—since the very beginning of my journey in America. We grew up side by side, and over time, he became more than a friend—he became family. There’s no one I trust more to stand beside me as my best man on Mel's & my big day.

John Ross Mayhall

Groomsman

JR and I go back several years. He’s the definition of hard work and perseverance, with a level of discipline and stoicism we could all aspire to. He’s not a man of many words, but when he speaks, you listen—always insightful.

Ben Hudson

Groomsman

Ben Hudson is genuinely one of the best people I know—a firefighter, paramedic, and an all-around stand-up human who would help anyone in need. Even though we’ve only known each other for a few years, it feels like a lifetime. He’s also the one person I can always count on to share a good conversation—and a love for bourbon.

Braxton Baker

Groomsman

Braxton—Mr. Charisma himself. It’s like he was built in a lab. Always respectful and effortlessly affable, & a dedicated husband and father who has been setting the standard for years—and making it look easy.

Nick Colburn

Groomsman

Nick and I go back more than 15 years, and from the start, we’ve always been able to sit down and solve the world’s problems, or at least pretend to in our long conversations. He’s thoughtful, genuine, and easygoing—a great friend and a devoted husband to his amazing wife.
