Dear Family & Friends, Adam and I got married on October 24, 2020 surrounded by our close family in a beautiful ceremony at St. Cecilia Church in Stamford, CT followed by a gorgeous dinner at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, NY. However, due to COVID restrictions, we could not have many important people in our life there to celebrate with us. Because of that, we want to get our loved ones together this summer for a casual celebration. We are looking forward to celebrating our wedding with our friends in 2021! With love XOXO Melissa & Adam
We met during our freshman year at Trinity Catholic High School in 2005. We would always eat lunch together when schedules allowed, and also had classes together throughout the years. Everyone knew we were best friends - including our AP European History teacher who always commented on the huge, lift-you-off-your-feet hug we had every time we walked into class. Our friendship continued throughout college and we both visited each other in Boston (BC) or Washington DC (GWU). Throughout it all, both of our families constantly joked about when we would start dating.
After college, we would try to see each other any chance we had despite living in different cities. Some highlights include going to Yankee games, making Christmas cookies with the Latorracas, or meeting the Pope! We quickly started dating once we were in the same city again in the summer of 2017.
Our summer vacation of 2019 was a special trip to Sun Valley, ID to go hiking, kayaking, and relax. Sun Valley has always been a special place for the Schoenherr Family as we've been going since 2001. Adam planned to pop the question on the last day of the trip on top of "Baldy" Mountain. The original plan was to hike to the top of the mountain and propose once we reached the top. After some seriously sore legs from another hike, we decided to take the gondola to the top - forcing Adam to wear long pants and hide the ring box in his long socks. Once at the top, Adam had a photographer waiting to capture the special moment.
