First off, I will say meeting Melissa has been the best thing that’s happened in my life. Not only did I find a partner for life but someone that will always push me to be the best version of myself. We always knew of each other when we were going to high school. Melissa’s high school best friend was dating one of my high school best friends, but we somehow never actually met. I was always snapchatting her, trying to get her attention, but never could. She always thought I was some weirdo (which I was lol). I eventually started to give up and thought it wasn’t meant to be, little did I know, I was wrong. Years went on and we never really talked until one day, I saw Melissa at the gym that I went to. At the time, I thought "now might be my time to shine", so I slid up on her story and asked if she worked out at phaze 3 fitness. I was trying to be nonchalant like I didn’t see her working out there a couple days before. She jokingly said "yeah" and I said "I do too". This is what started our conversations because we were both very into working out and caring for our health. We talked for a little here and there, but she kept telling me she didn’t want a relationship at that time. I asked her to go get food with me and maybe go look at christmas lights, hoping she'd say yes because she previously expressed she liked doing that. Little did she know, I was basically asking her out on a date. I thought about the most classiest place to take her out on the first date, good ole Zaxby's. After the date, things were going good, we began talking more and more and found many interests we shared. I then decided to ask her if she would want to workout together since we went to the same gym. After the workout, I "left" my hoodie in her locker where she had her backpack/clothes, so she would have a reason to talk to me again. We started going on more and more dates after this and the rest is history. We then decided to get our first puppy together, baby Luna. Our lives completely changed with her, we raised her, went on many trips together, and simply learned to grow together. Time went on and we decided to get Luna a baby brother/playmate for life, Cooper. Now we live every day in happiness as we get to raise the best two dogs a man could ask for.
On this date, our lives changed forever! I always knew that one day I would be marrying Lucas. From the first time we met, I always felt such a strong connection with him. You always hear people say that if you spend so much time with someone you will "get tired of them", but this never happened with us. No matter how many days we spent together, we always felt like it was not enough. We could see each other every day for a month and still miss each other the second we are apart. Lucas has truly made me see the good in everything, the way he cares for everyone around him and how he would do anything for the people he loves, really shows me how grateful I am to have such a kind and loving man in my life. We always talked about our future and what all we wanted to do and see. One day, he asked me if I wanted to go on a picnic to sit and talk and just catch up with how busy life has been lately. We ended up at The Botanical Gardens. All of the flowers had bloomed and everything was so green and beautiful. We walked around for a little while, looking at all the nature that surrounded us and ended up near the “koi fish pond”. We both have expressed how much we love this area and how it brings us so much peace listening to the water flowing out of the fountains. Lucas brought a picnic basket that was filled with food and drinks he packed. I also happened to see a Tripod in there and automatically got suspicious and asked what it was about. Lucas began to explain that “we do not have any good pictures together and I thought it would be nice to take some”. Thinking nothing of it, I was like “okay that sounds like a good plan” lol. We ended up finding a nice area in the grass next to the pond to set up the tripod. Once the tripod was set up, we were ready to take “pictures” or so I thought. We got in front of the camera and got a few pictures before he turned towards me and got on one knee. The second he turned, my heart began to race because I knew what was happening. I was full of so much emotion and just soaking in every second. As we are both staring into each other's eyes, he says “Will you marry me?” And of course I had to say yes! I have dreamt of this day for as long as I have met Lucas and always knew he would be the one. This day is forever special in our hearts and we are so glad we can cherish this moment forever.
