Jay and I met at St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School. We were in the same home room for three years. There is a running joke that he went through my best friend (at the time) to get to me. But we did not date until after graduation. I left my Oscar de la Renta umbrella - a.k.a Gordon Gartrelle (one of Jay's jokes from the Cosby Show) in his car one day, and I left messages for him with his mother because I really wanted my umbrella. It was very expensive at the time. But let Jay tell it, that was my excuse to reach out to him. We dated for a while but broke up because of controlling ways and immature. We went our separate ways. We said maybe in ten years we will get back together. And Ten years late.... we saw each other at Discovery Zone, and we haven’t left each other’s side since.
