The dress code is semi-formal. For women, this would include tea-length or maxi dresses. For men, a collared shirt and jacket - no tie required. Please keep modesty in mind for the Wedding Mass.
We recommend that everyone arrives 15 minutes prior to the Holy Mass starting at 1:00pm. Come sit and silently pray for us before we enter into the sacrament of marriage! We will have two photographers present at the Mass so please refrain from taking photos during the liturgy. We will have detailed Mass programs available at the Cathedral!
We would love to have you at the Wedding Mass - thank you for celebrating us! This will be the pinnacle of our day and a special time of prayer as we enter the Sacrament of Marriage together. The priests celebrating the Wedding are aware guests of all faith backgrounds will be attending the Mass, and they will be sure to share any important direction during the liturgy. During communion, non-Catholics are welcome to come forward for a blessing or remain in the pew. We are so grateful for your prayers! We encourage all Catholic friends and family to join us in receiving the sacrament of Confession in the days leading up to the Wedding Mass!
Yes, you are correct! Due to the Cathedral having a 4pm Mass for the parish, our wedding Mass must start at 1pm. This time will also allow us space for photos and a private meal before the reception begins! We expect there to be around a 2-hour gap between the end of the ceremony and the start of cocktail hour. We encourage you to check-in/stop by your hotel to refresh or grab a coffee or cocktail at one of the nearby establishments!
Due to being blessed with many friends and family and limited space at our reception venue, we will likely not be able to fit everyone we wish to have! We can only accommodate those formally invited on the invitation. If you received a plus-one or have kids invited, the names will be listed, and all spots will also appear under your name when you RSVP. The one exception - any babies 2 years old or younger are welcome to come - we will just not have a designated seat at the reception for them. If a situation prevents you from otherwise coming to our wedding, please contact Tyler or Melisa and we will see if there is any wiggle room as RSVPs come in. We look forward to celebrating with you!
For the Rehearsal / Wedding Mass - there are several free parking lots around the Cathedral. For the Reception - Magnolia has parking lots of their own and will have attendants outside to direct!
If you have any additional questions before the big day that are not addressed here, please do not hesitate to reach out to us! You can email us at melisaandtyler@gmail.com or text/call us.
