We met in high school when we were only 17. Who knew from that moment we would find ourselves getting married. Our moms were friends who worked together and one morning as I am on my way to school, my mom asks me "do you know a Jacob Kemp?". Without a second thought I said "no, who is that?" I went on about my day going to lunch as I went to my favorite teachers room to eat with my friends I hear another teacher call the name Jacob Kemp. I said to myself "no way this is happening right now". From there I asked him if he was Jacob Kemp and I introduced myself and told him how I knew his name. As we grew to known each other we joked about everything, it was as if we had known each other for years, like bestfriends. We dated for a few months and eventually went our separate ways, just like most young couples do. I went off to college and he went on to graduate high school the following year and went straight into working, we reconnected shortly after I was in college for a few months but ultimately realized we were both too busy to give this the proper time it needed to flourish. After a few years of living our lives we reconnected in March of 2019, when I was getting ready for graduation in May and my mom had surprised me with inviting him to my college graduation from UNC Pembroke. From May 4th 2019, we started our lives together and never looked back. Two years later we made the decision to save all the money we could to move out into a place we could call ours, so any plans of getting engaged had been paused so we could focus on one thing at a time. Little did I know that as I was sticking to this plan, he already had gotten my mom and grandfathers permission and already had the ring he planned to use to change our lives forever. He held onto that ring for 2 months before surprising me with an engagement September 4th 2021 and two weeks later we moved into our own apartment and we continue to fall more in love with each other with each passing day!
