Answer

When it comes to accommodations in Cartagena, there are numerous options within the historic walled city to fit different budgets. For a luxurious experience, consider renowned hotels like Sofitel Legend Santa Clara, Hotel Movich, Casa Pestagua , or Charleston Santa Teresa. Hotel Casa La Factoria By Faranda Boutique and Amarla are both great options that are very close in proximity to the wedding venue, Casa Estrella. The are both a block away (3 minute walk) and affordable options to consider. Additionally, there are also many Airbnb options available, providing visitors with a wide range of choices for their stay in Cartagena. These establishments and rentals offer exceptional stays in Cartagena, allowing you to immerse yourself in the city's charm and history.

How do I get to Cartagena from the airport?

Answer

I recommend using Uber as it is available in the city. But just like using Uber in the states, be sure to check the license plates and verify the details before entering the vehicle. The journey from the airport to the Walled City typically takes around 20 minutes.

Answer

Expect warm temperatures and balmy nights, with an average daily high of 88°F and cozy lows of 77°F.

Answer

In Cartagena, Colombia, in August, it is recommended to wear lightweight and breathable clothing such as cotton or linen fabrics to stay cool in the warm temperatures. You may want to pack shorts, sundresses, and t-shirts for daytime exploring, along with comfortable walking shoes. Also, don't forget to pack swimwear, as you may want to take a dip in the sea or pool to cool off from the heat.

Yes, there will be a welcoming event for our wedding celebration. You can find more information about this event in the "SCHEDULE" tab on our website. We understand that these are "your" vacations, so attending is not required.

Answer

No, we will not be providing transportation to and from hotel. Uber is readily available for you to book at your own expense. Please note if you are staying within the historic area, walking may be a more quicker and convenient option.

While you can exchange currency upon arrival at Cartagena airport, we suggest using your credit/debit card as it's widely accepted by many places and vendors. Additionally, while tipping is not mandatory, it is customary in the city and greatly appreciated by the locals.

During our visit, we had the pleasure of enjoying a few noteworthy spots, such as San Valentin, Cande, and Cuzco. What made these three restaurants truly memorable for us were the added delight of live bands performing, creating a vibrant and lively dining experience.

Alquímico Bar and LA MOVIDA are both fun and safe night clubs.

What should I wear for the welcome party and for the wedding?

Answer

For the welcome party, we're going for a "Casual Cute" dress code. Think effortless chic - an outfit you'd love for a laid-back yet stylish get-together. Whether it's your favorite sundress or a cool linen shirt, we want you to feel comfortable and fabulous. For the wedding, please come dressed in "Semi-Cocktail" attire—think of elegant yet comfortable that's ideal for a summer evening filled with dancing.
