Melina’s Story: Grant and I first crossed paths in second grade, but we weren’t really friends back then. Fast forward ten years to the start of our senior year of high school, and we reconnected through a mutual friend. From that point on, we quickly became close. Even as “just friends,” Grant would call me every night, always taking a genuine interest in how I was doing. Those conversations became a special routine for us. After about seven months of friendship, I dropped a few hints for Grant to finally ask me out. On March 21, 2022, he asked me to be his girlfriend and his date to our senior prom. Since then, we’ve been side by side through every milestone: graduating high school, navigating college, and celebrating our college graduation. What I treasure most is how our relationship has grown in faith. Early on, we made it a priority to attend church together, and we’ve seen the Lord transform our hearts as we’ve kept Him at the center of our relationship. No matter what season of life we step into, our love remains steady and constant. Grant's Story: Melina and I first met in the 2nd grade at Lake Center Christian, where I attended until 6th grade, at which point I moved to a different school. We were out of touch until the summer, going into our senior year in high school, where we reconnected through a mutual friend. When I first saw her after so long, I thought, “Wow, she’s cute”, and we became best friends after a month of reconnecting. I would always think about her and look forward to calling her at the end of every day. I would always go to her house and hang out with her, we would go on drives a listen to music, go to Pulp for smoothies, McDonald's for Shamrock Shakes, and I even took her to my winter formal school dance. I really liked her, but never dared to ask her to be my girlfriend until she started giving me “hints” that I probably should. That’s when I finally asked her to be my girlfriend, and since then, we have accomplished so many large milestones in life together, like high school graduation, finishing college, and so much more. Our journey in life together has been nothing short of amazing. From going to church together every Sunday, joining Bible study groups, countless Chipotle dates, baseball games, and trips the the aquarium, to me finally asking her dad if she can be my wife in the parking lot at Texas Roadhouse. Melina and I have always stayed on each other's side no matter what. She has been my biggest supporter, my constant, and my best friend. We both believe that God has been the reason our relationship has grown into something beautiful. Because of that, we have given all glory to God by continuing to have him in the center of our relationship and staying in a constant state of prayer with one another.
