Flight
We recommend flying into Bellingham International Airport (BLI) - it’s about 25 minutes from the ferry terminal to Lummi Island. You can also fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), which is about 2.5 hours away by car.
Travel Note
To reach Lummi Island, you’ll take the Whatcom Chief ferry from Gooseberry Point, just outside Bellingham, WA. The ferry ride itself is quick (about 5–8 minutes), but summer weekends can bring long wait times—sometimes 1 to 2 hours—since it’s first-come, first-served and space is limited. We strongly recommend arriving at the terminal early to avoid missing the ceremony. Helpful info: No reservations needed (or accepted) Ferries run every hour, ending at 12:30 AM Round-trip fares: $15 for vehicle & driver, $8 for walk-on passengers Credit/debit only (no cash; American Express not accepted) There’s no gas station on the island, so be sure to fuel up before boarding!
Travel Note
We highly recommend staying on the island for ease and convenience on the day of the wedding. You can rent a home on the island through VRBO, Lummi Island Vacation Rentals, or Airbnb, but book early, as they fill up quickly! The island is small, so feel free to book anywhere on the island.
Hotel
This hotel is located off the island, about 10–15 minutes from the Lummi Island ferry terminal at Gooseberry Point. If you choose to stay off the island, please be sure to review the ferry information above, as wait times can be lengthy during the summer.
