Barry & Missy Brown

Parents of the Bride

A Letter to our Daughter and Her Fiancé To our beautiful Melenie and her soon-to-be husband, Chace: As you prepare to walk hand in hand into this new chapter, we find our hearts overflowing—with love, pride, and joy. Watching the two of you grow together has been a gift we will always treasure. You laugh together, support one another, and share a bond that promises a bright, enduring future. To our daughter: you have always been our light, our Sunshine. From your first steps to this moment of becoming a bride, you’ve carried yourself with grace, kindness, and courage. We see in you the strength of generations, wrapped in the soft elegance that’s always been uniquely yours. To her love, Chace: thank you. For cherishing her heart, for standing beside her with tenderness and respect, and for making her smile in that way only you can. You've become family not just in name but in the way you show up—consistently, lovingly, wholeheartedly. Marriage isn't made just of grand moments. It’s in the everyday kindness, the gentle forgiveness, the laughter after a long day, and the quiet understanding when words fall short. We have no doubt that you both will build a life rich in those little moments that matter the most. As you say “I do,” know that you carry with you all our love and support. May your journey be filled with endless discovery, shared dreams, and a love that only deepens with time. With all our hearts Mommy and Pops

Joe & Debbie Carlos

Parents of the Groom, Best Man

We are so grateful, thankful, proud, and all the other happy adjectives you can think of to be a part of this wonderful day. When we were blessed with our son, it was an answer to our prayers. Watching Chace become the young man that he is and watching his commitment to God and friends is a blessing to us. Chace always knew God would send him the right one and when Melenie came into the picture, she was the perfect fit. Sweet, smart, and beautiful inside and out; she’s a breath of fresh air. We know God will bless them and direct their path as they walk together. We are ready for the future, bring on the memories! Love, Mom and Dad

BJ Brown

Groomsman

My name is BJ Brown I love God, family and basketball and I’m an art fanatic. I know the couple because Mel is my sister and I know Chace through Melenie. For the wedding I’m most excited to see the beginning of unity between the two and being able to see their love blossom for years to come.

Janae Thatch

Maid of Honor

Janaè is one of the bride’s best friends. Before they became friends their families had been close generations before.  She is looking forward to seeing her friend walking down the aisle as a beautiful bride!

Groomsman

A few years ago I decided to start attending the Young Adults class at Calvary Tabernacle. I was pretty introverted so I would tend to just show up and leave without really interacting too much. Chace and Mel would reach out to me and make an effort to invite me to various events. I turned them down more times than I didn’t, but that didn’t discourage them. Eventually, Chace invited me to go on a road trip with him and his friends. This was so out of my comfort zone, but for some reason I agreed. I am so glad that I did. Through blasting music in the car, touring historical landmarks, and having deep conversations on the beach, I gained a lifelong friend from that experience. From then on, Chace and Mel have been a source of Godly positivity and fellowship for me and so many others. It’s exciting to see God working in their lives. They have already had such an impact on me and so many others as individuals, there’s no telling what they will be able to do together!

Olivia Qual

Maid of Honor

Bestie, third wheel, + loooong time fan of Chace and Mel. 💛 I have had the absolute privilege of watching their actual fairytale love story unfold. I’ve laughed with them, cried with them, and witnessed unforgetable moments like the pocket, the table, and yes… the whiteboard (if you know, you know). Beyond all the fun, they’ve been two of the most consistent, steady voices in my life—sounding boards, safe spaces, and true friends through every season. I love this couple so much-it’s been an honor to walk alongside them in life + an even greater joy to stand beside them on their beautiful day!

Gabriel Means

Groomsman

Hello, I’m Gabriel! I am so honored to serve as a groomsman in Chace’s wedding. I first met Chace in the first grade classroom at CCS, and ever since, we’ve shared a love of humor, whimsy, and lightheartedness, but most importantly, Christ. I cannot wait to see how God blesses Chace and Mel’s new family! It’s so great to see good people thriving.

Brianna Jenkins

Bridesmaid

I met Mel and Chace in Young Adults at Calvary Tabernacle. I am most excited to get to be with them on their exciting day and celebrate one of my best friends!

Tyler Spence

Groomsman

I first started attending church with Chace at Westside Apostolic Pentecostal Church. I was brand new to the faith when I found a great friend in Chace who helped me start my journey with the Lord, and was one of my best friends growing up. Chace and I have found many similar hobbies (particularly, nerdy) to invest our time into together, and we have built a great friendship over the last 11 years. I’m so excited to see Chace get to marry such an awesome and Godly lady, and I’m excited for the times my wife and I will get to create new memories with them! I am most excited to see where the Lord takes them and how He will use them for His kingdom.

Alicea McCann

Bridesmaid

Mel was one of the first people I met at Calvary Young Adults, and she instantly made me feel like I belonged. Our friendship kicked off over a Panera game night with Liv and Duffy. Big sad that our Florida trip never made it out of the group chat. Even without the beach, Mel brings sunshine wherever she goes, and I’m so excited to stand by her side on her big day!

Jourdain Brown

Groomsman

Yo yo. I’m Jourdain Brown, the younger brother of the Bride. Ah, where do I begin with these two. “Mewie” I have known the entirety of my life. Being the oldest, she initially took the role of a second mother in my life, before molding into an example of hard work and dedication before my eyes. Not merely in terms of working toward her dreams, but working toward bettering herself as a person. Chace, the missing sibling. I’m not sure exactly when me and Chace first came into contact, but he has always carried himself with a gentle care and love. Chace and I click on a different level. It is hard to explain it as anything else other than a brotherhood. I hold the utmost of respect for this man. Together, they always push the other toward improvement. Their conjoined empathy is a trait that has impacted my every interaction with them and I am looking forward to seeing how these two grow and develop within Christ.

Kylinn DePalma

Bridesmaid

Howdy, I’m Ky! I met Mellie at Indiana Bible College. We became close when I joined the Calvary Young Adults group where I also met Chace. The two lovebirds came over almost weekly and our friendship adventures began. I’m super excited for their marriage and future together, and I can’t wait to celebrate two of the best people on their favorite day! (Also, special shoutout out to them for bringing Dain Dain around ;))

Ronnie Pickering

Groomsman

Chace and Mel are such a wonderful couple and I am honored to share this wonderful occasion with them! I’ve known Chace for quite a few years now, as we each attended CCS for several years. After high school we continued to be friends and had several great memories together over the years, (some examples being many a late game night at his grandma’s or my parent’s house and even a trip to South Carolina with a few other of our friends.) Chace is truly a great man of God and I’m excited to see what this next chapter of his life holds for him and his wife. As for Mel she is such a kind and wonderful person. I will always remember that time we ran into each other at the CTYA retreat. Well, more specifically she ran into me. Well, even more specifically the rear bumper of her car ran into mine while trying to take her fiancé and their friends to Waffle House at midnight. For Chace to still trust her to drive them places she must truly be something special. I know God has great things in store for this couple and I can’t wait to watch His plan unfold in their new life together!

Anna Duffy

Bridesmaid

I met Mel and Chace at church, and Mel and I clicked instantly—she’s been one of my closest friends for the past two years. I still remember watching Chace literally CHASE after Mel at a young adults retreat 😄. It’s been such a joy to watch their relationship grow, and I’m beyond excited to stand by their side on their big day as they step into this next chapter together!

Matthew Brown

Groomsman

Brides baby brother, I love her!

Shekinah Bumbray

Bridesmaid

Hi! My name is Shekinah Bumbray. I’m a Junior at Virginia State University, majoring in Agricultural Business and Economics. I’m proud to be Melenie’s cousin and honored to stand by her side on such a special day. Melenie has always been like an older sister to me. She is someone I’ve looked up to for as long as I can remember. I love her dearly and am overjoyed to celebrate her beautiful union with Chace! I’m so excited to welcome Chace into our family. Seeing the way he loves her makes my heart full. Mellie is one of the most amazing, strong, and beautiful people I know inside and out and she deserves every bit of the happiness this new chapter bring.

Groomsman

I went to CCS for around a decade so I've known about Chace for as long as I've been alive, but never personally had a relationship with him until about 2 years ago. I got to know Chace through the random happenstance that our parents started hanging out. From then, we went on to chatting privately about writing projects and games we liked to play. We bonded over these games and I realized that more than any of my other friends, he isn't just your friend for the entertainment or fun; he has a genuine concern for people and their souls. He always weaves prayer and socialization into everything and it's very clear when you've know him for an extended period of time he wants the best for you. I wish I hung out with Chace more than i do presently but I know we keep each other in our prayers. I look up to him as a Godly example and as a good friend. I'm excited for the wedding because I have seen how quickly Chace becomes calm when Mel is around him, and this wedding will seal their relationship for good. It's genuinely an awesome thing when two good people find their equal. Even though the wedding only last a few hours, it's a chance for all of us as his friends and family to celebrate their love, and pray that their marriage be woven together unto heaven :)
