At first, we continued to plan thinking surely with our original date being almost a year away things would be ok. As we all know - that didn't happen. In July we started to make our "plan b" with our vendors who we amazing in their flexibility and let us have a backup date reserved in addition to our original day. As October approached, we realized plan B would need to become Plan A, and we decided to drastically alter the wedding plan. We decided to postpone our original reception to August 7, 2021, but still get married on February 13, 2021 with our immediate family and wedding party. Luckily, technology allowed us to stream our ceremony and still feel connected to those far away. Even a freak winter storm that hit the weekend of our wedding couldn't stop us! We cannot wait for August to continue the celebration, and are so glad to be married!!
From Cole: We were in San Francisco and Napa, California for vacation. Andrea thought she was surprising me by renting a convertible for our drive out to Napa. Little did she know I had been carrying a ring box with me the whole trip! After dinner, we decided to walk around the town despite it being chilly and not dressing for the weather. Andrea was only lasting so long before trying to get a ride back to the hotel, so I grabbed her phone and insisted we sit on a nearby bench where I asked her to marry me. She seemed to forget she was cold after that! We never made it to the original spot I planned on asking, but the evening was exactly us.
From Andrea: I moved to Dallas after college where I knew very few people, but at least had a close friend from high school was going to SMU. I often would hang out with him and his friends during their last semester, one of them being Cole. After he graduated, he moved back to Atlanta. Over the next year he came back to Dallas for a few events, where I started to see him differently. Apparently, he had felt the same way. With a little (liquid) courage, we told each other how we felt, jumped into dating long distance, and haven't look back. And I can't wait for our future together!
