Thursday, we will pick a restaurant to meet at for drinks and dinner most likely in Old Town Scottsdale so that everyone will have a chance to experience that area. If Southwest Mexican food is of interest, Old Town Tortilla Factory is an option where we can sit inside or outside.
Other options in Old Town Scottsdale include Barrio Queen, a long time staple in the area, and a good tequila bar.
This is a fun really casual sports bar if there are any must see sports on that weekend!
The Royal Palms Hotel and Resort is worth seeing and perhaps stopping by for a drink. They have a very relaxing bar called The Mix Up Bar and has beautiful grounds. It is one of the venues we considered for our wedding.
• If you are considering hiking, early starts are recommended. We are near the Chola Trail and Echo Canyon. There is very little parking available at the base of these trails so Uber is your best option for getting there. For more information, check out www.arizonahikersguide.com If you choose to hike, don’t forget the issue of the cactus. You’ll definitely need hiking boots and thick pants but I’ve also heard of people wearing their rain boots to keep the cacti off of them.
For breakfast/brunch we suggest Henry’s, a member of the Fox Restaurant group. There is a wide range of choices for breakfast or lunch and they are known for their pastries. If that doesn’t sound good, there are several other breakfast places nearby as well as at the Omni.
The spa at Omni Montelucia is supposed to be amazing! If you want to do something like that, book now! I heard it gets booked quickly. Don't forget you could spend the rest of the day lounging around the pool.
You’ll hear a lot about Fashion Square and if you are interested in “mall shopping” and high end stores, you may want to check it and the surrounding area out.
Old Town Scottsdale includes many “boutiques” and local stores showing off local items such as turquoise, jewelry, and western art, etc.
