We met at work, and despite being complete opposites, we quickly became friends. While he was always finishing his tasks early, I was the one staying late, trying to keep up. But he never let me tackle it alone—he’d always offer to help and wait for me so I never walked to my car alone. As time passed, our friendship grew stronger, with texts flying back and forth and a connection that neither of us could quite explain. We were in deep denial that there was anything more to it—until our friends decided to play matchmaker. They took matters into their own hands, inviting us out for a night we’ll never forget. And as they say, the rest is history. Fast forward through a few living situations, a pandemic, some SSRIs, matching tattoos, a dog, a house, and a LOT of support from friends and family, and here we are—ready to take the next step in our journey together.
