Question

Do I need a passport if I'm traveling from the USA?

Answer

Yes! A valid passport is required for entry into Canada. Remember to check when your passport expires to avoid any last-minute issues. PLEASE NOTE THAT A REAL ID WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR ENTRY INTO CANADA IF YOU ARE TRAVELING BY AIR

Question

Can I fly into Canmore?

Answer

No. The closest major airport is in Calgary (YYC) and Canmore is around an hour's drive away. Please see our travel page for transportation options.

Question

What clothes should I pack?

Answer

Apart from your wedding attire, be sure to pack for all four seasons! Mountain weather is unpredictable and it's not unheard of to snow in July. It's a good idea to pack lots of layers but Canmore also has an abundance of great outdoor gear stores and boutiques for you to pick up anything you may need. Also, if you're attending the Calgary Stampede, remember to pack your best cowboy/cowgirl attire!

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

There are no Uber or Lyft services in the Canmore/Banff/Lake Louise area. See our travel page for a variety of transportation options for exploring the mountains. The wedding venue is a 5min walk from downtown Canmore via a pedestrian path and boardwalk.

Question

Do I need to pay to enter Banff?

Answer

A National Park Pass is required to enter Banff/Lake Louise and can be purchased online or at the entry kiosk for $10.50CAD per person, per day and a half (seniors 65+ $9CAD, youth 17 and under free). https://www.banfflakelouise.com/park-pass-purchase
