We completely understand that traveling to Italy is a significant commitment, and we know it may not be possible for everyone. Please know there is absolutely no pressure — your love and support mean the world to us, whether you are celebrating with us abroad or from afar.
We recommend staying in Ravello, Amalfi, or Scala, as these towns are closest to the wedding venue, Villa Eva. Ravello is the most convenient, as it is where the wedding will take place. We recommend staying at least 3 to 4 nights to fully enjoy the Amalfi Coast and recover from travel.
We recommend arriving at least 2 days before the wedding to allow time to settle in, adjust to travel, and enjoy the Amalfi Coast.
We understand that traveling to Europe without children can be difficult, and that some guests may need to bring them along. While children may attend the wedding, we want parents to be able to fully relax and enjoy the evening. We are planning to have babysitters available in a separate room upstairs at the venue for those who feel comfortable using this option. If you plan to bring children, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
The dress code is Black Tie Optional. Gentlemen may wear a tuxedo or a dark suit with a tie or bow tie. Ladies may wear a formal evening gown, a sophisticated cocktail dress, or other elegant evening attire. The ceremony and reception will take place outdoors on stone terraces, so please keep this in mind when selecting footwear. We recommend avoiding very thin heels due to stone pathways. see here for more information on black tie optional dress: https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-formal-black-tie-optional-black-tie-invited
September on the Amalfi Coast is typically warm and pleasant, with daytime temperatures in the mid-70s to low-80s°F and cooler evenings. A light wrap or jacket is recommended for the evening.
If your invitation includes a plus one, they will be listed on your invitation. Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those listed.
Both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. The night-time after party will take place indoors.
We hope you make a trip out of it - the Amalfi Coast is one of our favorite places in the world. Some ideas: • Take a boat day along the coast • Visit Positano for shopping and lunch by the water • Explore the gardens of Villa Cimbrone or Villa Rufolo in Ravello • Relax at a beach club in Amalfi • Take a day trip to Capri • Enjoy long dinners with local wine and fresh seafood For guests looking to venture further: • Visit Pompeii to explore the ancient Roman ruins • Tour Mount Vesuvius • Spend a day in Naples for pizza and history There is truly no shortage of beauty, history, and incredible food to enjoy.
Your presence is the greatest gift. If you wish to send a physical gift, we recommend shipping it to our home address after the wedding.
Ravello is a historic hillside town and can be somewhat challenging to navigate, as there are many stairs, inclines, and uneven stone pathways. We want all of our guests to feel as comfortable as possible and are happy to help accommodate mobility needs to the best of our ability. Please reach out to us if this is a concern so we can assist with hotel recommendations and transportation arrangements.
The Amalfi Coast is known for its dramatic coastal views, colorful cliffside towns, and rich Italian culture. One of its most famous symbols is the large local lemons, which are used to make fresh lemonade, desserts, and the region’s signature liqueur, limoncello. The area is also known for beautiful beaches, scenic boat days, historic villas, incredible food, and its relaxed, romantic atmosphere. We hope you take time to explore and enjoy everything this special place has to offer.
Yes, but it is a hillside town with stairs and cobblestones. Comfortable footwear is highly encouraged.
Absolutely! Italy offers endless possibilities. Many guests choose to visit Rome, Florence, or the Puglia regions before or after the wedding.
Please indicate dietary needs when you RSVP so we can accommodate you.
If you plan to continue traveling after the wedding, the easiest option is to return to Naples, which is the nearest major transportation hub. From Naples, you can take a high-speed train to destinations such as Rome, Florence, or Milan, or fly to other locations within Italy or Europe. Trains are comfortable, efficient, and often the easiest way to explore multiple cities.
Yes, in the morning and early afternoon depending on your schedule. Ravello is small and easy to explore.
Ferries run between Naples, Sorrento, Capri, Positano, Amalfi, and Salerno and are a beautiful way to travel along the coast. The closest port from Ravello is Amalfi.
Italy is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time (EST).
Most U.S. cell phones will work in Italy, but international roaming charges can be expensive. We recommend contacting your carrier in advance to add an international plan. Many guests also choose to purchase an eSIM, which allows you to use data in Italy without changing your physical SIM card. Providers such as Airalo, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile offer international data options that can be set up before your trip. Wi-Fi is widely available at hotels, restaurants, and cafés, but having mobile data is very helpful for navigation, taxis, and communication.
Most hotels on the Amalfi Coast have air conditioning, but as many buildings are historic, systems may be less powerful than what you may be accustomed to in the U.S. Air conditioning is typically sufficient for comfort, especially in the evenings when temperatures cool. If air conditioning is especially important to you, we recommend confirming this directly with your hotel when booking.
Lunch is typically served from 12:30–3:00 PM and dinner from 7:30 PM onward. Restaurants may close between lunch and dinner.
Most restaurants, hotels, and shops accept credit cards, but smaller cafés, taxis, and beach clubs may prefer cash. We recommend carrying some Euros for convenience. It is also a good idea to notify your credit card company of your travel plans in advance to avoid any interruptions due to suspected fraud.
Yes. Italy uses Type C, F, and L plugs with 230V voltage. We recommend bringing a universal adapter. *LADIES* - Many hair dryers & tools use different voltage in Europe. We recommend bringing a voltage converter if you rely on these tools!
Uber is not widely available on the Amalfi Coast. Private car services and taxis are the most reliable transportation options.
Service is often included, but rounding up or leaving a small tip is appreciated.
U.S. citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Italy. Guests traveling from other countries should check entry requirements in advance. A valid passport with at least 6+ months to expiration is required for entry into Europe.
