Wedding Party

Meet our fabulous family and friends who have agreed to take part in our special day!

Sarah Montelongo

Maid of Honor

Favorite Memory with the Bride: When we traveled together on a cruise to the Bahamas. This experience was special because it was the first time traveling with my best friend just the two of us. She is so fun to be with and is always willing to try new things. We had fun snorkeling through the turquoise waters, “spending the day warm on the sand,” and she could spend all day in the ocean if she could. It was exciting to explore the unique Atlantis resort and water park. I enjoyed little moments like curling her hair on formal night while listening to Selena and Hamilton, just being silly. It was nice to hear when people would ask us if we were sisters because she feels like she is. This trip is a cherished memory and I hope to continue creating new ones in years to come!

I love both James and Melanie so much and am so excited for their big day! Melanie and I have been friends for nine years and over those years we have had countless sleepovers, fun adventures and a few grand trips. It was difficult to choose just one memory to write about, but here goes: Fort Collins hosts an event called Tour de Fat where people dress up and ride bikes around the town. We have participated in that parade a few times, but the one that sticks out is the year Melanie and I choose to rollerblade instead of bike. We dressed as Wonder Woman (Melanie) and Supergirl (Kasey). Melanie and I bladed as fast as we could without falling over to keep up with the bikers. We made it all the way through the parade laughing and hanging on to strangers biking next to us for balance.

It's hard to pick a favorite memory of the two of us. You have been there for so many of my milestones - my graduation, engagement party, and wedding. And I've gotten to witness some cool things in your life! I think my favorite memory of you and I is just working together in the Orientation office for OTP. That office is where we met, got to know each other, and became best friends for life. We found out how well we worked together, like when we won lunch with Mayry for making the most calls in for the week, and how much we enjoyed each other's company during our daily runs for ice for our sippy cups : ) And, of course, working with you in OTP meant that I got to see things develop with you and James! Love you!

Favorite Memory with the Bride: In a tale as old as time, it was difficult to select just one memory. If I had to choose, my favorite memory with you was going to Disneyland Paris. We had a magical day in the happiest place on Earth exploring a pirate's life, soaring on a magic carpet ride, braving the Twilight Zone, and most importantly, spending quality time together. This will be one of many great adventures that we shall embark on because in the words of Buzz Lightyear, our friendship will go "to infinity and beyond!"

Kayla Shelton

Bridesmaid

I have so many wonderful memories with this lovely lady! However, one stands out in particular because it is the perfect example of Melanie’s big heart: Before my wedding, I casually mentioned to my mom that it would be nice to have a bridal shower. My poor mom, already stressed from the wedding, nearly had a heart attack at the thought of more party planning! Of course, Melanie (who had barely met my parents) jumped right in, became fast friends with my mom, & drove back and forth to put together the most adorable bridal shower, complete with handmade favors & purple cotton candy champagne. I had no idea that she had gone to such lengths & was completely touched by the kind gesture. It’s still one of my favorite memories from the wedding, & a true testament to Melanie’s selflessness!

Stephanie Abney

Bridesmaid

Favorite Memory with the Bride: My favorite memory was ALL of our Europe adventures! I think the one that sticks out the most in my mind is the river cruise around Notre Dame seeing the sunset and Eiffel Tower light up.
