Hotel
** Out-of-Town Guests ** Please Read ** We have setup a hotel room block at a hotel 7-9 minutes from our house and 21-25 minutes from the wedding & reception venue. Currently, we are negotiating with the hotel marketing representative, Ms. Leah Sikes, to see if we can get the room block moved from the Candlewood Suites to the Hampton Inn next door (there is another wedding the same weekend, and that group has reserved a 67-room block at the Hampton Inn, so we are waiting to see if enough rooms opens up there to transfer to that location). In any case, if you would like to be counted in the room block, please reach out to Melanie (832.205.6277) ASAP, and let her know your arrival date and departure date. You can also contact Ms. Leah Sikes directly during weekday hours (Monday through Friday between 8am to 4pm Central Time on her personal cell at 832-221-8447). If you have already spoken with Melanie, your name has been added to the hotel room block list and Ms. Sikes has reserved a room for you. The next step is to call Ms. Sikes and provide your credit card number to her for the reservation to be completed. If you do not contact Ms. Sikes directly by Sept 13, please reach out to Melanie ASAP so that you do not lose your tentative reservation.
Flight
Houston boasts two major airports, but William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is the most convenient for domestic flights. It is also the closest to where we live, the wedding/reception venue, and all our recommended hotels. The second option is the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
Travel Note
Whether you fly into William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) or George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), we would like to recommend that you plan for your flight arrival to be prior to 2pm during the weekday in order to avoid driving during peak hours (although, please note that there can be heavy traffic in Houston all hours of the day). Both airports are close to Interstate 45, which you will need to travel south on in order to get to our side of town. We live in Dickinson (south of the NASA area) and the wedding and reception is in Seabrook (east of NASA Johnson Space Center).
Travel Note
Our wedding will be held at Frenchie's Villa Capri in the gardens right on lake and the reception will be in the reception hall, called "Casa Mia" next door to the restaurant. Frenchie's Villa Capri is located at 3713 East NASA Parkway, in Seabrook, just down the road from NASA Johnson Space Center. Since the venue is located on the water, we are asking that only immediate family bring the children. We would like everyone to have an amazing time, and have no concerns for their young ones venturing near to or possibly falling into the lake. So, schedule your sitter now - you might even plan a backup sitter, just in case - and then make it a "date night" or a "night out"! The dinner buffet we have planned is absolutely mouth-watering, authentic Italian! Between our matron of honor, the best man, and Guery and I, we had a welcome challenge to choose dishes that you will enjoy! There are two main dishes - one vegetarian and one with meat. We will also have a dance area, with music for multiple genres! So, plan to take a spin or two on the outdoor patio dance area under the stars and stringed lights! With a playlist of oldies, big band swing, country music, Latino and more... we hope to have songs that everyone will enjoy! We look forward to celebrating with you!
Travel Note
NASA Johnson Space Center is one of the most popular local attractions. Melanie would be able to purchase discount tickets if you reach out to her prior to September 29. For those who love being by the water, you have multiple options for a day outing or an evening out. The Kemah Boardwalk, which is a short drive east from our wedding venue location, has several Landry's restaurants, shops and theme park rides right located next to Clear Lake. If you prefer, a 20-30 minute drive south on I-45 from the NASA area will take you to Galveston Island, where you will find many seafood restaurants, Moody Gardens & the Rainforest Pyramid, and much more.
