A love story so interwoven there is no true beginning. Melanie and Ed grew up in the same neighborhood, they had some of the same friends, even went to the same gym, but it all changed when Melanie developed a crush. She told Ed's best man Joe and he took matters into his own hands... calling Ed from Melanie's phone. Ed didn't answer - typical. But three days later Melanie received the classic "Who's This?" text and that when it really began. They went to On The Border on their first day, ordering the exact same drink and meal. Over the next few months, they became more serious, going on trips together, spending more time with eachother's families... falling in love. In the summer of 2017, Ed bought his first home. Melanie moved in less than a year later and they became a family when they adopted their best friend Oakley.

On June 15, 2019, Ed suggested a nice dinner at Chart House in Weehawkin, NJ. Previously, they had only gone to dinner here only on special occasions like a birthday or anniversary so Melanie knew something was going on. They had a beautiful dinner followed by a walk along the pier overlooking NYC. At the end of the pier, Ed got down on one knee and popped the question. After many tears and much applause from bystanders, Melanie very joyfully and excited said YES!
