Chancer and Melanie were both attending the tailgate for Spelman-Morehouse Homecoming. They had mutual friends who stopped to chat with each other, and so they introduced themselves briefly. They didn't exchange numbers when they first met "leaving room for fate". The two bumped into each other later on that evening and exchanged numbers. The next day, Melanie invited Chancer to a haunted house so she wouldn't be the third wheel...and they've spoken every day since.
Chancer needed a model for a product shoot for one of his businesses, and so Melanie was happy to support. He said he wanted to capture the sunset in the images and so they would be shooting on the rooftop of Ponce City Market (which is where we went for the first date that Chancer planned). Upon arriving, Melanie was instructed to lookout at the skyline while the photographer took test shots and he would let me know when to turn around for the actual photos. The photographer announced, "We're ready!" and when Melanie turned around, her friends and family were holding red roses and Chancer was kneeling with the ring!
