Our story began on the last day of 2014. I was home from PA school for an extended 6 week break over the holidays. I had made zero plans to leave the house for New Years Eve until my friend Ashley Turner, who is from Roanoke VA, called and invited me to a party with her friends from home. Relieved that she was getting me out of the house, I quickly got ready and met her at the party. Ashley introduced me to several of her friends from home, one of them being Andrew. I was quickly drawn to his unique sense of humor. He was the "goofy" one that everyone in the room loved being around. We chatted throughout the night, played games with the group and before we knew it, it was the countdown for midnight. 10, 9, 8.. when suddenly Andrew says "I'm going to go get us some drinks." I thought to myself, have I been getting mixed signals that he's leaving me right before midnight? I slightly grabbed his hand signaling him to stay and we entered 2015 with a New Years kiss. After New Years, we were inseparable. I thought for sure Andrew would not continue to pursue me once I left for PA school. I was pleasantly surprised, that a distance relationship did not deter him when he sent flowers asking me out on a second date. Here we are five and a half years later getting married in Linville NC! We are lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives supporting and encouraging us along the way and are beyond excited to celebrate with all of you in September!
