His Story

Tony grew up in Franklin, Massachusetts, with his parents, Debra and Frank, and his sister, Tina. The DeGrazia house was a place where people gathered—hosting Bruins playoff games, Thanksgiving Eve parties, horseshoe tournaments, and serving enough food to feed an army. Growing up, Tony had an active imagination and an insatiable curiosity. He was a “come-home-when-the-streetlights-turn-on” kind of kid—constantly outside, riding bikes, skateboarding, and exploring the neighborhood with friends. He was happiest in motion, always building, learning, or creating something from nothing. In high school, he spent most of his time in hockey rinks, on lacrosse fields, or skiing the trails of the White Mountains. He also found a deep love for music—spending countless hours jamming with friends in basements, garages, and around fires. Summers were spent camping throughout the Northeast with his family, often returning to Upstate New York. He attended college at Saint Michael’s in Vermont before transferring to Lesley College of Art and Design in Boston to study photography. There, he discovered a passion for darkrooms and image-making. His love for music deepened, too, inspiring countless road trips—often in pursuit of the next Phish show. After graduation, cameras eventually led to tools—and that passion grew into a trade. Tony still plays guitar, still takes pictures, still hosts, and still believes in work that speaks for itself—the kind you can point to.

Her Story

Melanie grew up in Clinton, New York, with her parents, Dianne and Mike, and her brother, Ryan. Mornings in the Mahanna house began with a mix of SportsCenter and Disney soundtracks—equal parts hype and harmony. As a kid, Melanie was both wild and dutiful—a barefoot tree-climbing explorer who also took great pride in being a bus safety monitor. She spent her days playing basketball with her brother, digging holes to China, and singing Grease at full volume. In high school, she loved being a student-athlete and spent Saturday mornings coaching youth girls’ basketball. Summers were filled with AAU basketball tournaments, camping trips in the Adirondacks, and fully committing to Murder Mystery dinners with friends. She earned a degree in Inclusive Education and French from Syracuse University—a combination that let her teach children and order pastries with confidence. After graduation, she moved to Brooklyn and became a fifth-grade teacher at a public school she adored. One summer, she fell in love with acting, went on to train at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, and began her path through New York City’s acting world. Today, she finds joy in acting, writing, producing, and making things with the people she loves—often barefoot, usually laughing, and occasionally with a twig still in her hair.

Our Story

Tony and Melanie met in July 2022 at a mutual friend’s family party in Vermont. Melanie had gone out for an early run and came back with a freshly sprained ankle. Limping into the quiet house, she found nearly everyone asleep—except for Tony. He glanced down at her rapidly swelling ankle and asked if she was okay. Melanie insisted she was totally fine. She wasn’t. Tony knew it—and drove her to get an ankle wrap and a splint. That night, they danced while the band played—Tony with his signature backward snap move, and Melanie hopping along on one foot. They ended the night by the bonfire, sharing stories and a bottle of whiskey until the stars faded into sunrise. Something small and seismic had begun. In April 2023, they packed up Tony's Chevy Colorado and drove across the country to Los Angeles, where they now live with an incredible community of friends. In July 2024, after a dinner celebrating their second anniversary, Melanie grabbed a pint of ice cream and headed to the couch. Tony grabbed a ring and knelt beside her. Three minutes in, Melanie realized Tony wasn’t just awkwardly stretching and put the spoon down. Right there, in their first apartment, with melting ice cream and full hearts, he asked her to marry him. As they look ahead, they can’t wait to celebrate all the joy and love that brought them here — surrounded by the people who’ve made their journey unforgettable.
