First step here is to remember calories don't count on vacation (we don't make the rules). Pad the stomach at Lewis Barbeque (don't miss the brisket and don't sleep on the green chile corn pudding). Perk up with coffee from The Harbinger Cafe & Bakery. DIY your own brewery hopping tour at Edmund's Oast (great outdoor patio), Revelry Brewing (rooftop seating if you want some sun), and Palmetto Brewing Co (lawn games and live music if you catch it right). After that, you should probably go home, but if your stamina allows, there are countless other breweries in the neighborhood, or even Highwire Distilling if you fancy something stronger!
Grab a coffee at Harken Cafe (add one of their famous biscuits too, if you're feeling it) to accompany you on this stroll through Charleston's historic district. Take a walk south and wind through the neighborhood to see classic Charleston homes and gardens (don't miss Rainbow Row, Mills House, and shamelessly peaking into any mansion's private garden). Rest your legs on a bench down at White Point Garden surrounded by beautiful southern oak trees. Check out water views at The Battery. After you wind your way back north to where you started, stop in to Husk's walk-in friendly back patio for an incredible cocktail because you earned it.
Walk up and down King Street in the heart of Charleston to do some shopping and find a gift for someone in your life, or just for yourself. While you're strolling, take a break and caffeinate at Kudu Coffee and Craft Beer's outdoor patio. Peel off to the Elliotborough neighborhood for lunch at Xiao Bao Biscuit and a sweet treat at Sugar Bakeshop. Grab a drink at The Citrus Club (rooftop of The Dewberry Hotel) or Stars Restaurant (you can walk right up to their rooftop, too). If you want a lowcountry snack, try out some of the raw bars at The Quinte, The Darling, or The Ordinary.
Tired of the city? We'd be surprised, but if you're here for some extra time and want to take a day trip to the beach, nearby Folly Beach is your best bet. It's an easy drive or Uber to Folly Beach (~30min drive). Grab some coffee at Dead Low Coffee Co. Eat three tacos minimum per person at Taco Boy (plus some pineapple margs because you're on vacation). Walk straight down to the beach to put your feet in the sand, get some sun, and go for a stroll along the water. If you're feeling active, head out to Charleston Outdoor Adventure to kayak around the marsh land and maybe catch sight of a dolphin or two.
