Delta variant is here, but we're hoping to move forward in a safe way to protect all of our loved ones (including our little bundle-o-joy, Amélie). 1. All events are currently planned to be outdoors 2. We will be performing rapid tests when guests arrive (don't worry it's just a gentle nasal swirl instead of the deep nasal testing). This isn't perfect, but it definitely provides some peace of mind. More information here: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/blog/at-home-covid-antigen-tests/. 3. We strongly encourage vaccination prior to coming (if you have questions or concerns, call Mel, she's a doctor! and got vaccinated while she was pregnant!). DISCLAIMER: These plans of course depend on the trajectory of infections and state regulations. We will let you all know by email or text if things change suddenly.
Since we don't get to see our loved ones as much as we would like to, we're asking a big ask. We'd love for you to come as much as you can from Friday to Sunday. Direct quote from Marc-André: "If they come on Tuesday I'm going to hang out with them on Tuesday." We'll have games, food, hot tubs, hikes and plenty of activities so that boredom is not an issue - full itinerary TBD (currently Marc-André's and Mel's primary maternity/paternity leave project other than keeping a human alive). Central activities will happen either in the beautiful barn (with doors open) that we have all weekend or outside.
Well guess what....you're going to have to come and find out. But spoiler alert it involves Celine Dion and the Kentucky Derby, as all good stories do.
