While there are less likely ways to meet, you can be sure neither of us was expecting to meet the person we would be marrying when our roommates brought us each along to a cover band concert in Madison. We found eachother on the dance floor, just 2 pairs of people marked as being around the same age by the under 21 stamps on our hands. Dancing together that night thoughts of living together, having a dog, and preparing for marriage were not in our minds. But as the weeks went on, and I began to visit Mel's apartment with the most uncomfortable red couch in the world, we became closer and closer. Eventually I went on a trip to Colorado with a friend and all I could think about was her, to the point I cut the trip a day early so I could come home to see her again. That was when the thoughts began, and as time grew on and we spent more and more days out on adventures in the streams, in the woods, and on the ice, and many nights on that awful red couch, the thoughts grew. Through different apartments, different jobs, and different cities, we stayed together and stayed in love. Thoughts of marriage turned into talks of marriage and finally it came to the point when it was time to turn talks into action. Living together with my best friend is the simplest and yet greatest joy in my life, and everyday I look forward to coming home to my family, my best friend and our dog. As a great thespian once said, "Marriage isn't complicated. You decide you're going to spend the rest of your life with somebody, and you do it", and thats exactly what we are doing. We are so grateful to everyone who has been on the journey with us and look forward to you joining us as we celebrate our love.
