Heading into college, I had absolutely no intention of finding someone to be in a relationship with. Not even a month into college, I met Jacob, and it was quite obvious that God had other plans for me. Walking around campus I found myself constantly seeing and wondering, "Who is this super cute boy who's always wearing a baseball hat?" I made it my goal to find out who this boy was. Some may argue that I made the first move by finding and following Jacob on instagram, but Jacob was the bold one who decided to add me on snapchat and message me. I right away received a simple "Heyy," from him, and somehow that did the trick because we have been inseparable ever since. One of my favorite things about our story is that Jacob was close friends with my brother, Austen, before even ever meeting me. Yet somehow, he failed to figure out that he was talking to Austen's sister, which made out for a pretty fun start to our relationship. Now, here we are countless adventures, Disney movies, ping-pong matches, roller coaster rides, Mario Kart races, and cherished moments later, and I have the privilege of one day calling Jacob my husband. God blessed me with a man who has the biggest heart, sweetest smile, most contagious laugh, and best personality, and I am overjoyed that I get to spend the rest of my life with him. I can't wait for always and forever spent with my best friend.
Well, I first saw her while I was getting breakfast at Lancaster Bible College. I believe she was getting out of morning workouts for basketball. I immediately said to myself “Who is she? She’s Beautiful!” One or two days laters, while I was doing my Practicum at Mount Calvary Christain School, I received a follow request from Mekenzie. Accepting her request was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I “slid into her DM’s” on snapchat by saying the best and shortest pick up line, “Heyy”. Don’t laugh because it worked. After snapping back and forth, I realized she was the sister of Austen Smith. Austen and I played baseball together for LBC and are good friends. While he was living on campus, we would play basketball and video games all the time, but not once did he mention that he had a sister. So yes, it was a little awkward at first but “We good now, haha”. I quickly learned that Mekenzie is funny, smart, caring and beautiful. I love her and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my time with her.
