This date is deeply significant to us being the anniversaries of Mekenzie’s parents and grandparents. She has the same middle name as her mother and maternal grandmother, and it felt fitting to share the same wedding anniversary with them as well.

We first met through Mekenzie’s brother’s wedding. Our introduction happened in the summer of 2021 at the couples’ shower for her brother, Dawson, and his now-wife, Faith. After the shower, Aaron told his friend Nick that he really liked Mekenzie and thought they got along great. A few months later, on December 18, 2021, we both stood by Dawson and Faith’s side—Mekenzie as a bridesmaid and Aaron as a groomsman. During the reception, we naturally gravitated toward each other and had a great time. The next day, Mekenzie sent Aaron a message, and from that moment on, we haven’t stopped talking.

We went to Huber Winery to do flower picking and to see if they had one of Mekenzie's favorite wines. We got there right when they opened and decided to do the flower picking first before it got hot. We were the only ones in the flower fields when Aaron got down on one knee!
