Not really! As long as your passport has 6 months of validity at the moment you enter, you're good! You'll have to buy a "tourist card" when you go through customs- which costs $12. (We recommend bringing cash!)
Traveling to El Salvador doesn't require a negative covid test or proof of vaccination.
March is the tail end of the dry season in El Salvador with day temperatures around 85 F (30 C) and dropping to 72 F (22 C) in the evening.
We recognize that the news cycle doesn't show El Salvador as the safest place to visit. As in any other city in Latin America, you can stay safe by knowing where to go and following the recommended precautions. We want you to enjoy and discover the hidden jewel that is El Salvador! The most important piece of advice is to not take taxis or use public transportation.
Unfortunately, San Salvador isn't a city where you can't walk around on public streets. We recommend staying away from the temptation of walking around to get to know the city. If you want to book a city tour we recommend contacting our wedding coordinator, Fabiola at planit4usv@gmail.com OR via Whatsapp (+503.7286.5317) for more info on city or adventure tours.
We will be organizing transportation to all the wedding events to/from Hotel Sheraton. You can arrange for private transportation to/from the airport and/or for any extra days that you plan to be in El Salvador by contacting any of our recommended drivers (see travel section). The only taxi company that we recommend is Acacya taxis (+503 2521 1000).
US Dollar $! We recommend bringing cash, but credit cards are accepted in most places you'll visit, and ATMs are accessible. Please note ApplePay, Venmo, PayPal are not accepted in the country.
We have reserved a block of rooms with preferential rates Hotel Sheraton only. Transportation will be provided to the wedding events from this location. If you desire to stay in a different hotel or experience San Salvador like a local there are also Airbnbs. You can arrange private transportation by contacting any of our recommended drivers (see travel section).
