Ryan and I met 9 years ago through one of my bridesmaids Katie and groomsmen Griffin. We went on vacation with them not knowing each other and were both in other relationships. A few years go by, and when we are both finally single, we hit it off at a bar one night. Ryan and I went on our first date to the Milwaukee Public Market, then went to a pop up art gallery show Downtown in the Third Ward after. After a few more dates, we found one of our common interests, being outdoors camping and hiking. Over the next 6 years would go on many dates/vacations doing that!
In 2020, Ryan and I had realized we didn't want a traditional wedding here in Milwaukee, but still wanted as many as our loved ones to help us celebrate. We love traveling, so we were open to the idea of getting married destination style. We had visited Asheville twice and loved it! There is hiking so close to the city, and TONS of craft breweries in the area. (Another thing we both share love for.) When we got engaged, Ryan had mentioned looking in to Asheville. As soon as we started our research, we realized this was the place! Being able to have our ceremony overlooking the mountains is like a dream and we are so excited to make that happen!
