We formally met when Mike asked me to go to his last fraternity formal with him (through a mutual friend) at the University of Delaware. We didn't know each other, but both took a chance and the rest is history! After that weekend together, Mike graduated, we spent all summer together and were quickly inseparable. By the end of July we were officially dating, and now 6 years later we are engaged!

We were headed upstate for our anniversary weekend. Mike always plans sweet surprises for me so it was nothing out of character for him. I didn't know where we were going exactly and was so happy when we arrived at Inness. The grounds were gorgeous and I was looking forward to a weekend celebrating 6 years together. Mike did a few things over the past couple months to put in my head that we weren't getting engaged that weekend. It was a surprise until the very second he got down on one knee! He told me we were doing a champagne picnic for our anniversary. It was raining, so it ended up being set up inside the venue space with the most picturesque view. It was romantic and cozy with flowers and candles. Even after seeing everything, I thought it was just for our anniversary and it wasn't until he got down on one knee that I realized what was happening. I was so happy and in complete shock. After celebrating together with champagne and photos, he told me we were going to a private dinner, just us two. To my surprise, I walked into the most stunning dinner party with both of our families. I cried many happy tears and we celebrated with our closest loved ones. It was so special. Mike planned everything down to the very last detail. It was a fairytale engagement. I feel so lucky to have him and we are so happy to be getting married!
